MTRCB Rates Four New Films fit for Family Viewing including “Lilo & Stitch” and “Mission: Impossible - Final Reckoning”

FAMILIES can enjoy a fun-filled movie experience this week as four films received age-appropriate ratings from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

The American science fiction, “Lilo & Stitch,” from Walt Disney Pictures, has been rated G (General Audience), meaning it is appropriate for all ages.

Disney’s 2002 cartoon masterpiece is reimagined in this live-action version.

Three others were rated PG (Parental Guidance), suitable for viewers aged 13 and below with parental supervision:

- “Mission: Impossible-Final Reckoning,” is the eighth instalment of the action-spy franchise, starring Tom Cruise. This film was reviewed by MTRCB Board Members (BMs) Juan Revilla, Robert Andrews and Jose Alberto V;

- “Daniela Forever,” a Spanish-Belgian co-production that premiered at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, tells the story of a young man who uses lucid dreaming to reconnect to a lost love, with unintended consequences. Reviewed by BMs Andrews, Alberto and Neal Del Rosario; and,

- “Conmom,” a Filipino comedy-drama starring Kaye Abad, Paolo Contis, Patrick Garcia and Empoy Marquez, it follows a former theater actress who uses disguises to spend time with her only child. Reviewed by BMs Cesar Pareja, Angel Jamias and Jan Marini Alano.

MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio reminds parents and guardians of the importance of parental supervision when watching films.

“Parental supervision is necessary to help contextualize certain scenes that may cause confusion or scare younger audiences,” said Sotto-Antonio. “We encourage families to enjoy these films together and use them as opportunities to promote responsible and mindful viewing.”
