The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has released its age-appropriate ratings to eight films showing this week.
“Seventeen (Right Here) World Tour In Cinemas,” a concert film featuring a South Korean boy group, has a G (General Audience) rating, for viewers of all ages.
“Sinagtala,” a locally produced inspirational musical drama starring Rayver Cruz, Rhian Ramos, Arci Muñoz and Glaiza De Castro is rated PG (Parental Guidance). The story is about friendship, music and faith.
The action-comedy, “Minecraft,” based on a 2011 video game, and the Japanese anime television series adaptation, “Oshi No Ko: The Final Act” are also rated PG, suitable for kids 13 and under with parental supervision.
“The PG rating ensures that parents are aware of the content that may require explanation for younger viewers,” said MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio.
Thai drama, “Flat Girls,” about love and friendship between two high-school girls, both daughters of police officers, and American thriller, “Locked,” an English-language remake of the Argentinian 2019 action film, “4x4,” are both rated R-13, suitable for ages 13 and up.
Due to its graphic and terrifying content, “Rob1n,” about a robotic expert who created a doll possessed by a demon, is rated R-16, for 16 years old and above.
Due to its depiction of illegal substances, the local comedy-drama, “Gulay Lang, Manong,” starring Cedric Juan, is rated R-18 (Restricted-18) rating, for 18 and above.
Sotto-Antonio advises parents to keep an eye on their kids because some characters choose questionable life choices that younger viewers might misinterpret as glamorous.
