We fell high in love and and relaxed after watching the advance screening of When Magic Hurts last May 15, 2024. When Magic Hurts shines with the refreshing tandem of
Mutya Orquia and Beaver Magtalas. They look good and comfortably act together that is
evidently seen on screen with their overflowing chemistry. Mutya shines
both in heavy and light moments of the film. In her dramatic moments you
can feel in her sensitive portrayal the agony of an orphaned child. On
the other hand, her cheerful moments especially with Beaver felt so
natural and kilig.
Beaver Magtalas is a breath
of fresh air, as a newcomer he delivers in this film as a rich young
kid who fell in love unexpectedly but is torn between family or love of
his life. Maxine Trinidad is effective as
the third wheel that challenges the relationship of the leads by her
convincing villain acting. The other supporting cast, especially Claudine
Barretto and Dennis Padilla is remarkable in this film, giving their
topnotch and noteworthy performance. The beautiful landscape of Atok, Benguet adds layers to the
colorful journey of love story of young lovers with its warm vibes and cold feels. The theme song of the film "Got To Believe in Magic" makes the film more enthusiastic and eager to watch as the story unfolds. It's been a while since we
have seen this kind of feel good romantic love story featuring a rising
loveteam on the silver screen. So if you are a fan of cheesy pinoy love
stories and would like to reminisce about your young love, When Magic Hurts is
worth a watch.
