Movie Review: It Takes A Man and A Woman

The 4 years is worth waiting for the last and 3rd installment of love story of Miggy Montenegro and Laida Magtalas.  Within that four years marami ang nangyari, natuloy umalis  papuntang Canada si Laida, she works there as editorial consultant on one of the publishing company while Miggy became the young outstanding businessman in the Philippines.

Now muling bumalik si Laida dahil kinuwa siyang consultant ng brother ni Miggy for the Flippage publishing the only business na meron si Miggy and he needs to make it or else mawawala sa kanya ang lahat. At pagbalik ni Laida muling nagbalik ang nakaraan including her old officemates na sina Zoila & Friends( Matet, Joross& Gio). Ngunit ibang Laida na ang nameet nila ngayun , it is now Laida version 2.0 with an American accent. So muling nag krus ang landas ni Laida and Miggy. Will their love be rekindle ?, Will the  Flippage publishing can make it? What will happen in New York? May happy ending ba ang Miggy&Laida love story? Ito ang dapat abangan sa movie na ito.

Let’s go to the review of the movie. Nasustain ang kilig, comedy at quality ng movie, may mga scene sa part 1 na inulit rito and still effective. The movie got fast pacing and good screenplay. Actually the treatment na ginamit sa part 1 and part 2 are still imposed in the movie. Naging mas kwela nga lang ngayun dahil may mga joke na binabato sa 2 dahil may past sila at hindi maalis ang magbangayan ang 2 mag X. You will feel a roller coaster of emotion while watching the film, nanjan yung super tawa ka sa mga eksena then biglang maiiyak ka tapos biglang switch to kilig mode. May mapupulot ka rin aral about forgiveness and love. Talagang from part 1 until here ay memorable ang scene ni Laida with her mother, ang kanilang heart to heart talk at dito nga nila napag usapan that Love and Foriveness is a Choice and we forgive when we are ready. Magaganda rin ang mga eksena sa New York kung saan dito muling narealize ng 2 that they still love each other. Madaming funny and kilig scene sa movie. Na utilize ng husto ang New York  in which mabubusog ang mga mata niyo sa  view. Just watch out as for the scene in which magkatabi sa pagtulog sina Laida & Miggy, that was very classic magkatalikod sila ng matulog but magkayakap na sila pagkagising. My favorite and for me the most cheezy scene sa movie is the proposal on the aiport scene grabe sorbang kilig ng eksena doon with matching participation pa ng mga worker sa aiport singing “Kailan”. How lucky Laida to have Miggy in her life. I got teary eyed for that scene because it’s so cheesy and very effective of showing how a man loves his woman of her life. Yung wedding scene naman is glossy and modern yung approach puro pink and full of glasses. And the bonus honeymoon scene towards the end of the movie was funny too but for me it would be much better na naging ending yung proposal in airport scene.

The movie got good supporting actors, sa character pa lang ni Joross na bawat banat niya ay tawa ang mga tao. I also like the character of Matet from part 1 pa pa lang gusto ko na yung acting niya as supportive friend to Laida. Alchris Galura is also good especially in his his breakdown scene! Isabelle Daza performance is good as well. She delivers well in the break up scene with Miggy. Its also good choice for the song and title of the movie It Takes A Man and Woman, sakto sa story ng movie at may kilig factor din ang movie. Ms. Carmi Raymundo is successful for writing the final installment of Laida & Miggy love story in which justifyable ang nangyari, hindi pilit ang mga eksena, realistic at maayos ang pagkakalatag ng pros and cons ng movie. It is simple direct to the point wala masyadong palabok at tumbok kaagad ang story ng movie. The Director’s treatment was so good and effective para pakiligin ang mga tao, as we all know that direk Cathy Garcia Molina really master romcom movie and this is one of her best funny romantic film ever. I can sense that this movie can reach a 300 million mark dahil full ang 3 sinehan sa SM Megamall on its first day. This movie is worth your 2 hours as you will feel good and ecstatic after watching this film.  For the fans of Laida and Miggy love team don’t miss this movie as this is a well-made comedy romantic film. One of the finest romantic movie of this generation.

My Verdict: 4/5
