From Driver to Owner: Hail and Wuling Launch Game-Changing EV Program for Filipino Drivers

In a landmark move toward sustainable and inclusive mobility, Hail Transport Inc., in an exclusive partnership with GM Wuling Philippines, has officially launched the EV Driver-to-Owner Program — a first-of-its-kind initiative aimed at empowering Filipino TNVS and taxi drivers to become full-fledged vehicle owners within seven years.

Held at the GBF Building in Bridgetown, Quezon City, the launch was graced by Wuling Philippines President & CEO Lloyd Lee and brand ambassador Shamcey Supsup-Lee, Miss Universe 2011 3rd Runner-Up. Together, they unveiled an all-Filipino-for-the-Filipino program designed not just to transform transport—but also to uplift lives.

What Makes the Program Revolutionary?

  • Zero Boundaries. Zero Amortization.
Drivers no longer have to worry about daily boundaries or complex financing. After seven years of active service under the Hail Rewards Program, they gain full ownership of their EV unit — a massive win for daily earners.

  • Daily Cost: Just P1,700
    This all-inclusive cost covers:

    • Up to 530 km in charging

    • Insurance, medical, and dental coverage

    • Vehicle maintenance, uniforms, and grooming

    • No franchise fees or annual insurance charges

  • Green and Efficient Models
Fleet includes the Wuling Bingo (203–333km range), Starlight sedan (up to 510km), and Sunlight family van (300km) — all coding-exempt and built for city driving.

  • Fast Charging Infrastructure
With over 200+ charging stations across malls and business hubs — including 10 units at GBF Building — Wuling ensures drivers are always powered up. Charging time ranges from 1 hour (10%) to 8 hours (100%).

  • Nationwide Rollout Plan
Starting with an initial batch of 5,000 EVs, Hail plans to deploy 20,000 units across the country in the next 5 years — supporting DOTr’s transport modernization efforts.

🌿 A Win for the Environment, Economy, and Everyday Pinoy

By replacing aging, gas-powered TNVS and taxis, this program drastically cuts emissions and promotes long-term savings for drivers — slashing daily operational costs by over 40% compared to traditional fuel vehicles.

"It’s not about profit — it’s about giving back to Filipinos," said Shamcey Supsup-Lee during the press conference.

🛡️ Bonus: Hail Protect — Beyond Transport

As an added layer of support, Hail drivers also gain access to Hail Protect, a bundled platform offering:

  • Life, accident, and motor insurance

  • HMO plans and telemedicine services

  • Livelihood training for drivers and their families

“This isn’t just about protection — it’s about possibility,” said Jonathan Ramirez, CEO of Hail Protect.

This partnership isn’t just putting EVs on the road — it’s driving a new future for Filipino mobility: sustainable, affordable, and proudly local.
