OTJ set to open your eyes to the real 'action' on the streets of Manila. The story mainly revolves around four men who are all in search for truth and personal justice--the law enforcers Francis (Piolo) and Joaquin (Joey), and law breakers Daniel (Gerald) and Tatang (Joel). How can there be hope in a world where goodness seems dim? For the sake of their families, how far can you go?
Its good that Star Cinema and Reality Entertainment gave us something new to watch to. Aside from the action suspense genre that we don't usually have, the plot and story that it cater for us the audience help us realize the realities that we have here in the political system of the Philippines. I hope that someday that we can change this and abolish this kind of illegal activities and corruption from our government offcials, private sectors down to us citizen.
Napakaraming layers ang ipinakita ng pelikulang ito starting from the life of veteran and the protege gunman, their families down to their struggles in their job,about sa isang mabuting pulis na may problema rin sa kanyang sariling anak at sa isang mabuting NBI agent na naiipit sa kanyang prinsipyo sa trabaho at sa pamilya ng kanyang asawa ng isang pulitiko.
Napakahusay ng pagkakagawa ng pelikula starting from the story on how the life of the 4 lead characters was presented at naibalance ng husto para maipakita ang character ng apat na bida. Screenplay is very good on how the the life of the 4 interconnects with each other and mga action suspense scenes na sobrang galing ng execution na kaya pa rin pala natin gumawa ng ganitong genre na pelikula. I hope this would not be the last from Star Cinema and Reality Entertainment to produce an action suspense films.
Acting performance of the artist was good. Starting from Joel Torre no wonder he got a Best Actor award internationally because of his portrayal here, isang malalim na pagganap bilang isang aktor. Gerald Anderson was good as well as you can see to him the freshness and youth na alam mong malayo pa ang mararatng niya bilang isang aktor, Piolo and Joey acts naturally in which their acting fits well to their character. I am some kinda shock with the love scene in the movie it was done in a different taste. Kakaiba yung execution at yung mga shot. Yung pagpasok ni Dawn and Gerald sa motel na slowmo, e napakacinematic at ang ganda nung visual. It was short pero tatatak sayo. Especially to Gerald and Dawn love scene for Dawn lang actually I did not expect that we she is so brave enough to have breast exposure here. I just watch her in The Animals last year na may mapangahas din na eksena with Albie then now mas grabe yung ginawa niya dito. She was so pretty though. For Shaina and Piolo love scene naman it is full of love as mag asawa at ramdam mo yun sa execution na ginawa. Di rin nagpakabog si Shaina in terms of hotness dahil ang tapang din ng ginawa niya dito bilang isang wholesome actress and for her role as wife of Piolo, sakto ang pagkakaganap niya bilang actress. Madami pang mga under rated actors and actress na gumanap dito na napakahusay, actually lahat ng supporting actors and actress ay nagbigay ng mahusay na pagganap. From Angel Aquino no question, Empress Shuck, William Martinez, Leo Martinez, Michael De Mesa, Rayver Cruz, Rosanna Roces Niňo Mulach, Michael Flores and JM De Guzman.
Production Design is SUPERB. Binigyan ng kakaibang look ang Manila rito. Bawat eksena alam mong bonggang PD ang ginawa at binigyan talaga ng look na alam mong bagay doon sa hinihinging eksena and execution. Hindi rin syempre nagpahuli ang DOP ng pelikula ang daming magagandang shot and very cinematic. So for this movie medyo dark yung color na dominant and dark yung lightning especially doon sa kulungan, squatters area and mga action scenes. It was also a tough job for the editing of the film. Sa pelikulang ito overall from the look and texture itself eh amoy na amoy mo at ramdam na ramdam ang baho ng Kamaynilan at ng ating gobyerno. Ngunit kahit na ganoon ay alam natin na mayroon pa ring mga Pilipino na may prinsipyo, na sa tuwid na landas at hindi papakain sa ating sistema na nakagisnan na ipinakita sa pelikulang ito.
So because of its plot, story, technicalities of the film on how the movie was done and the message of the movie that it convey to us this is the first film that I will give a perfect rating for this year. I am encouraging everyone to watch this film. This is highly recommended , maganda na ang pagkakagawa,maganda pa ang mensahe na gustong sabihin. No wonder this was shown on Cannes Film Festival, given a standing ovation, well appreciated by film critics abroad and received awards in an international film festival. Truly a world class film that something we can be proud as Filipino. This movie is something new and different for us movie audience to watch to. A well made quality action suspense film of this generation.
