Synopsis of the Film
Santi is a college freshman, living in a suburban town where his family just transferred after a financial crisis. As Santi deals with his new environment in school and his parents’ marital conflicts at home, he encounters CLAIRE, the most beautiful woman he has ever laid eyes on. To protect herself from that rainy afternoon, she takes cover from Santi’s big red umbrella.
Claire is more than ten years older than Santi. She works as an assistant in a bookshop. Coming in from a tragic break-up she is still lost, in the process of picking up the pieces of herself and finding her place in this world when she meets the young Santi.
Infatuation, admiration, love at first sight or whatever one labels it, Santi’s got it for Marie Claire. In his pursuit of her, Santi goes through a journey of finding the meaning of love, understanding its complexities, fighting for it, facing its challenges and accepting the pains and sufferings that it entails. In this process, Santi transforms from a boy to an adult, earning his passage to manhood.
