We recently attended the media conference of She Who Must Not Be Named, the newest big-screen team-up of Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin—collectively known as #FranSeth, one of the most sought-after loveteams of their generation.
Light, refreshing, and packed with kilig, She Who Must Not Be Named is a rom-com drama that offers a different flavor compared to the intense teleseryes the pair is known for. Also joining the cast are Bobby Andrews, Ruby Ruiz, Raven Rigor, Kych Minemoto, Elijah Alejo, Kaleb Ong, Abdul Raman, Lady Martin, and Bernadette Allyson.
The film is directed by Christopher Novabos, with story and screenplay by Lawrence Nicodemus, and cinematography by Eldrin Flores. It is line produced by Amelita Gonzales Alfonso, with Butch Ibañez as associate producer, and executive producers Armie Fernandez, Owen Fernandez, and Wilson Tieng.
What’s in a Name?
The story revolves around a guy who struggles to remember the names of the girls he dates—until he meets a mysterious, headstrong girl who refuses to reveal hers. At first, they don’t get along, but eventually, he finds himself falling for her. As her true identity slowly unfolds, his love is put to the test.
It’s a simple yet intriguing premise that leans into romance, identity, and emotional connection—delivered with a feel-good tone.
A Breath of Fresh Air for FranSeth
During the press conference, the chemistry between Francine and Seth was undeniable—kilig was definitely overflowing. Both were game in answering questions from the press, and what stood out the most was how open they are now with each other.
Seth shared that Francine has slowly let her guard down, allowing them to connect better—not just as co-stars, but as partners in their loveteam. From only talking when they had scenes together before, they are now much more open and comfortable with each other off-cam.
They also expressed how happy they were to do She Who Must Not Be Named, especially because it served as a breather from their usual heavy teleserye roles. As they joked during the mediacon, they’re often thrown into intense situations in dramas—kidnappings, high-stakes conflicts—but this time, it’s all about kilig, light moments, and that classic enemies-to-lovers dynamic.
More Than Just Kilig
The conversation didn’t stop at romance. The cast also shared their thoughts on topics like cheating and being a “babaero,” adding more depth to the film’s themes. And of course, one of the biggest talking points was the mystery behind Francine’s character—who, even on set, is simply referred to as “Girl.”
That alone already gives the film an intriguing hook beyond the kilig factor.
Music That Complements the Story
The movie features three original soundtracks that perfectly match its tone:
- “Hibang” – interpreted by Duen Caoile
- “Baliw Na Baliw” – also interpreted by Duen Caoile
- “Ganti Ng Tadhana” – performed by Owen Fernandez
Each track adds emotional weight to the story, enhancing both its romantic and reflective moments.
