Movie Review: Ngayon Kaya

Harold (Paulo Avelino), a shy college student from the province, developed a close bond and a secret love for his friend AM (Janine Gutierrez), a rich city girl who is passionate about her dreams.

However, their contrasting personalities would hinder them from taking their friendship to the next level.

After five years, AM and Harold were reunited at their college friends’ wedding, and memories of the past come flooding back. Caught between the past and the present, is it too late for them to change their future? Or will this become just another what-if in their lives?

Movie Review: Class of 2018

Sharlene is Ada, a loner who gets bullied. Nash is RJ, a “cool kid” who is a part of the popular rich boy posse. CJ is Migs, a geek obsessed with conspiracy theories. Kristel is Princess, a reformed mean girl who is doing her best to befriend the class, while Kiray is Venus, the school’s reigning queen bee who leads a popular clique.

“Class of 2018” is about Section Zamora, which is a class of underachievers, repeaters, and delinquents. When Section Zamora goes on an out-of-town field trip, a classmate contracts a mysterious virus, which prompts the military to quarantine them in an abandoned military facility. Movie Review: Bakwit Boys

As a super typhoon ravages the hometown of a family band composed of four brothers, their musical pursuits are put to a halt. They are forced to move from Isabela all the way to Pampanga to stay with their grandfather. While taking refuge in this distant farmland, the Datul brothers, who make songs together as the family band “Bakwit Boys,” put their musical talents to good use. The eldest brother, Elias (Vance Larena), is the band vocalist together with the youngest, Sonny (Mackie Empuerto), while Joey (Ryle Santiago) plays the guitar and Philip (Nikko Natividad) composes their songs.  Individual interests and personal conflicts test their unity as a family and a band, as they struggle to make sense of life’s ironies and tragedies.

Movie Review: Deadma Walking

A Palanca-winning comedy about gay best friends for life John (Joross Gamboa) and Mark (Edgar Allan Guzman) whose friendship is put to the test when one of them has a terminal illness and asks the other to help him stage his fake death, wake, and funeral as his dying wish. The result is a laughfest of "deadly" proportions.
