Manila’s Finest is a
gripping MMFF 2025 crime thriller that transports audiences back to the
turbulent 1970s during the First Quarter Storm. Set against a
politically charged pre–Martial Law era, the film follows principled
Manila Police Captain Homer Magtibay (Piolo Pascual) and his young
partner Billy Ojeda (Enrique Gil) as they investigate the murders of
troubled teenagers in the slums—an investigation that gradually exposes
deeper corruption involving powerful figures, systemic decay, and the
widening divide between the rich and the poor.

Movie Review: Penduko
Penduko follows the story of Pedro, a young man skilled with mythical
and supernatural powers, which he and his father, Apo Tisot, inherited
from their ancestors. But unlike Apo Tisot (John Arcilla), who uses his
gift to help the poor and sick, Pedro has other plans for himself.
After cutting ties with his father and leaving his hometown, Pedro moves to the city to follow his dreams, but so far, Pedro has yet to find a way to do odd jobs here and there to make ends meet, completely wasting his gift and potential.
But all that changes when a secret organization owned by Gat Blanco (Albert Martinez) hears about his skill and offers him a job as an albularyo agent. As Pedro works for the organization, he further hones his talent, which impresses many but also makes others jealous.
Then, out of nowhere, a powerful force of evil appears and endangers the lives of many, forcing Pedro to put the good of others before him.

Movie Review: Kalel, 15
Kalel knows a thing or two about secrets. His mother has an ongoing
affair with a married man. His sister had undergone an abortion at a
young age. And to top it all, he is the
son of a priest. He grew up being told to be ashamed and apologize for
sins he did not commit. Insecure about his past and upbringing, he
winds up recklessly searching for love and validation from complete
strangers he meets online. When, at age 15, he is diagnosed with HIV,
Kalel thinks it will just be another secret that he has to keep. After
all, he has mastered showing a carefree exterior while keeping his
emotional and physical pain bottled up inside. This charade allows him
to enjoy whatever precarious balance in life he can manage. But Kalel’s
already fragile existence comes unhinged. Without any moral compass to
restrain him, he is now in danger of sliding into a life of destruction
and pain.
