The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) is inviting Filipino moviegoers to enjoy a wide range of cinematic experiences as it classified several local and international films set for release in cinemas nationwide.
Among the local offerings is Drags to Riches, a comedy film starring Inigo Pascual, Elijah Canlas, and Christian Bables, which received an R-13 rating. The film is set to be screened exclusively in SM Cinemas.
Another Filipino production, First Light, starring veteran actresses Ruby Ruiz and Maricel Soriano alongside Kare Adea, Rez Cortez, Kidlat Tahimik, Soliman Cruz, and Lui Manansala, was given a PG (Parental Guidance) rating. The drama film explores compelling themes expected to resonate with audiences of different generations.
Also receiving a PG rating is A Quiet Bloom, a BisayaFlix production featuring Victoria Ingram and Leigh Sunga, which will likewise be screened exclusively in SM Cinemas.
For fans of superhero adventures, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow received a PG rating. The science fiction action-adventure film stars Milly Alcock as the iconic DC heroine and promises an exciting cinematic experience for family audiences.
Meanwhile, moviegoers seeking suspense and mystery may look forward to The Eyes, starring South Korean actress Shin Min-a. The mystery thriller was classified R-16.
Musical film enthusiasts can also catch Power Ballad, starring Nick Jonas, which received an R-13 rating.
MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto encouraged the public to support films in theaters while remaining guided by the Board's classification ratings.
Sotto reiterates her reminders to parents and guardians to observe the corresponding age classifications and content advisories to ensure a safe and enjoyable moviegoing experience for all.
So before buying your tickets, take a quick look at the MTRCB rating, according to Sotto.
