The film, which earned international acclaim and competed at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, remains one of the most powerful depictions of class struggle, ambition, and moral choices in Philippine cinema. Its restoration marks a significant step in preserving the country’s cinematic heritage for future generations.
Running from September 24 to 30, 2025, this year’s edition of Sinag Maynila continues its mission to showcase diverse and daring stories from Filipino filmmakers.
