There is a lot to enjoy in TBA Studios’ “Write About Love,” the lone romance among entries to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.
From writer and director Crisanto B. Aquino, “Write About Love” could have been a simple boy-meets-girl yarn but it rises above the usual inasmuch as it bravely employs an imaginative movie-within-a-movie treatment that allows for a fresh, new take on the genre.
Starring Miles Ocampo, Rocco Nacino, Joem Bascon, and Yeng Constantino, this new film from TBA Studios is a romantic comedy about a young female writer who teams up with a seasoned malewriter in creating the perfect romantic movie. Their clashing personalities and different perspectives on relationships lead them towards a path of self-discovery, together realizing what it truly takes to write about love.
When the three leads asked about their experience in doing the film, the following are their answers:
Rocco Nacino - "They are saying na darkhorse kami. It's a very fun first for me to work with TBA and other artists, Miles, Yeng and Joem. Si Joem, kaibigan ko yan, pero first time ko siya sa makatrabaho, and watching him acting on the set, parang naging tagahanga ako. It makes people understand more. Masasabi mo talaga sa audience na sit back and relax, enjoy the movie." When asked about the learnings for his film, Rocco says "Kung napanood niyo iyong trailer, ang daming nabanngit na kinds of love which lead us to make different kind of decision, nabanggit doon na love can lead us to make bad decision, good decision, sometimes selfish decision and sometimes selfless decision at dito iyon mapapakita, and it shows
kind of love para sa trabaho, sa buhay at sa kasintahan and it explains that ano ba ang love, how can you love? and you can only love when you experience pain."
