Ruby Ruiz stars on her first film in a lead role, Iska - Cinemalaya 2019 Official Entry

Ruby Ruiz will star in her first-ever lead role in Theodore Boborol’s independent debut film, Iska, which tells the story of a doting but impoverished grandmother who wants to take her 10-year-old autistic grandson to a special needs orphanage, but is deemed unfit as a guardian by the media and the government.

Cinemalaya 2019 runs from Aug 2-11 2019 at various venues of the CCP and August 7 to 13, at selected Ayala Cinemas and Vista Malls in Manila, Pampanga, Naga and Legaspi in Bicol, Bacolod, Iloilo and Davao.
