Jericho plays Rye, a superstar and a certified girl magnet. He is the object of many girls fantasy, including Jessy’s friends. On the other hand, Jessy plays Anna, a mysterious, happy go-lucky-girl who always throws caution to the wind.
Rye and Anna’s paths crossed and suddenly things happen. They end up in bed and everything turns upside down. That singular encounter added color into their lives. Their picture together went viral and became a hot topic on the television but the public is clueless about Anne’s identity. They only know her as the girl in the orange dress.
Will Rye and Anna fall for each other after knowing their true identity and experiencing the pressures from the public?
Just fall in love with this film after watching. A fairy tale love story told in unique way. With its smooth screenplay, tight edit and fast paced transition, The Girl in the Orange Dress delivers a feel good and kilig film that could easily be one of the topnotch rom-com film for this year and a break from the series of hugot film that we have this year. It works well with the undeniable chemistry of Jericho Rosales and Jessy Mendiola that blended well with their character and acted just suited for their role. I like the concept of the film and how they unveiled the story. Ria Atayde, Hannah Ledesma and Sheena Halili are a competent support in the film that stick to their characters, fun to watch and who knows might bagged a supporting actress award for this festival. The ensemble supporting cast are hilarious to watch from Juan Miguel Severio, Cai Cortez, Nico Antonio, Tuesday Vargas, Via Antoino up to Kalad-Karen. The theme song of the film, We and Us by Moria Dela Torre was so lovely, catchy and will make you fall in love as well. The Girl in the Orange Dress is truly a surprise for me that I really don't have expectation for this film but turns out leaving me awed all throughout the film. The Girl in The Orange Dress is a good catch, a must see and I think the dark horse for Metro Manila Film Festival 2018.
My Verdict: 4/5
