Jerrold
Tarog’s much talked about short film, “Angelito”, will have its global online
release this coming Easter via the film streaming site Cinetropa. The
20-minute movie that bridges the stories of the blockbuster film “Heneral Luna”
and its upcoming sequel “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral” was just released in the
Philippines this past February along with the acclaimed romantic comedy “I’m
Drunk, I Love You”. Fans of “Heneral Luna” from around the world can now catch
“Angelito” with this exclusive Cinetropa digital release.
Set right
after Luna’s assassination, “Angelito” focuses on Antonio Luna’s aides-de-camp,
Jose and Manuel Bernal. Alex Medina and Art Acuña, who play Jose and Manuel
Bernal respectively, reprise their roles. Aside from the Bernal
brothers, some central characters from “Heneral Luna” such as Arron
Villaflor’s Joven Hernando are also part of this mini-sequel.
With
fallen heroes at the forefront of this thrilling film, the release of
“Angelito” this April also serves as a commemoration of the Philippines’ Araw
ng Kagitingan (Bataan Day) in honor of all the country's heroes who fought
for independence throughout the nation's history.
“Angelito”
will be launched and be made available on Cinetropa.com starting April
15, Saturday midnight (12: 00AM EST) in North America and
April 16, Sunday noon (12:00PM) in Manila for a price of $US
2.00 and Php 100.00 respectively. The global online availability of
"Angelito" marks another first and exclusive digital release on
Cinetropa.
As a
special promo, viewers in the US can get a 50% discount from any movie of their
choice if they stream “Angelito”.
Cinetropa.com
is the first and only movie-streaming site in the market exclusively dedicated
to Filipino films.
